A Summerville man was charged with distracted driving after an accident involving the man’s vehicle and a log truck on Highway 27 in Summerville.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, Dillion Smith, age 26 of Summerville, was travelling on Highway 27 when he drifted into the lane of a log truck driven by Gerald Dalrymple, also of Summerville. Smith’s Chevrolet pickup truck was badly damaged in the accident. While Smith suffered minor injuries from the accident, he was not taken to the hospital.
The Georgia State Patrol says that smith admitted to looking in the passenger-side floorboard at the time of the accident.
Troopers cited Smith for distracted driving. The accident took place around 11:30 PM on September 23rd.
