A twenty-two-year-old Summerville man was jailed in Rome after reports said that he attacked a young woman and her grandparents.

Floyd County Police say that Austin Aaron Roan shoved the woman, who is the mother of his child, during a verbal argument.  Roan then allegedly charged at the woman’s grandmother and when the grandfather attempted to intervene, Roan hit the grandfather in the chest.

During the fit of rage, Roan also broke the victim’s television set.

Roan was booked into the Floyd County Jail on charges stemming from the incident.  He is charged with two counts battery, simple assault, cruelty to children, and criminal trespass.
