Georgia Power is warning customers about a scam that is demanding immediate payment and phishing for customer’s personal information.

Georgia Power says that the only number you should call to discuss a payment is the number that is printed on your Georgia Power bill.  Never give out credit card or personal information to anyone who says that they are with the utility company.

Scammers are known to “spoof” caller- ID and it will appear that the caller is indeed calling from Georgia Power.

Georgia Power says that they will never threaten customers or demand personal information over the phone.
