Chattooga County Commissioner Blake Elsberry says that he is spending $19,000 in COVID-relief funds to upgrade the county’s website.

According to the commissioner, the new website will be more user-friendly and will allow the county to stay connected with local residents.  In the past, the county’s website has not been updated for long periods of time and many found the site difficult to navigate.  The commissioner says that the new website will be easier for residents to find the information and services that they need from their county government.

The new website is being created by a Kansas-based company that provides websites for many counties in Georgia and throughout the United States.  The yearly maintenance for the website is expected to cost the county $4,000 per year.

Commissioner Elsberry told the Summerville News last week that he wasn’t sure what the new website’s address would be.
