
At half-time on Friday evening, Trion honored a former football coach. Coach Tab Gable was recognized they Trion City Schools for his outstanding career at Trion High School.
Coach Gable served as the Bulldog’s Head Football Coach for two different tenures totaling 16 years of service. He finished with an overall record at Trion of 108-64-4 which included 4 Region Championships, 2 Elite Eights, and 1 Semi-Final Appearance. Coach Gable also had stints as the Golf Coach and the Basketball Coach of both the girls and boys team while at THS.
Coach Gable is a true family man as well, he has been married to his wife Sue for fifty years and has 4 sons and 13 Grandchildren.
At half-time during Friday’s game as Sam R. McCain Stadium, Coach Gable was presented with a plaque that reads:

Coach, the commitment and dedication which you have displayed throughout your entire life has impacted countless student-athletes and made you a cherished figure in the Trion Community. The influence of a quality coach and leader can never be erased and will always be remembered. Thank you for having a true servant’s heart and for sharing your gifts and talents with Trion for so many years. Job well done to a great Bulldog on and off the field.
