The Trion Bulldogs have a long list of things going their way this year, but by all accounts at the top of that list is Trion Senior Rob Brown.
When the Bulldogs traveled to Armuchee a couple of weeks ago, Brown took the opportunity to show the Indians what the Trion Football Program can do under less-than desirable circumstances. The game was unilaterally moved to a Thursday night, giving the Bulldogs only three days of practice since their game the previous week against BEST Academy. The game was hampered by bad weather but even in that short game, Brown had 290 yards rushing and four touchdowns on 14 carries. He also had 62 yards receiving and two touchdowns on two receptions along with two tackles. By the half, the weather had deteriorated to the point that the game was called – and the Armuchee Indians were probably thanking the good Lord it wasn’t any worse.
This past Friday night, Brown had touchdown runs of 12, 16, 57, 20, 51, 46 and 24 yards and picked up 441 yards in the Bulldogs’ 61-28 win over Mt. Zion. Rob Brown carried the ball 25 times for 441 yards and 7 TDs. Brown now has 1,824 yards rushing going into the final game of the regular season Friday night at Gordon Lee. He is now the leading rusher in Trion history.
Trion has clinched the No. 2 seed from Region 6-A.
