To say it’s been an amazing year for the Chattooga Lady Indians softball team is probably an understatement.  The girls went all the way to the Elite 8 this year and boasted a season with 20 wins and 7 losses and were 7-3 in Region 7AA play.

Earlier this year, longtime Coach Jeff Bennett announced that he would be retiring after this season.  Chattooga High School surprised Coach Bennett by naming the field in his honor.

On Tuesday, Chattooga High School Athletic Director Jeremy Heathcock made the following announcement, “Chattooga High School is proud to announce that Coach Jeff Bennett has reconsidered retirement and plans to continue leading the Chattooga Lady Indians as Head Softball Coach. Congratulations once again to Coach Bennett and the Lady Softball Indians for an outstanding season and the first-ever appearance in the Elite 8!”
