Trion School Supt. Dr. Phil Williams has a lot on his plate right now, and problems getting building materials and supplies for projects is at the top of the list.

Last week, The Summerville News reported that the Trion School system is having problems getting what they need to complete the wrestling and weight-lifting center at the former Triangle Ace Hardware location.  The building is nearing completion with new brick work and a total inside remodel, but the school system is having problems getting things like steel power poles and even paint.

Williams told WZQZ News on Wednesday of last week that the inability to get the products needed to complete the project is causing delays in completing the building.  But a wrestling and weight training building isn’t the only project that is being held up.

The Trion Board of Education is set to construct a new police station for Trion City Police.  The police department will be moved from its current location at Trion Town Hall to the hill at Trion City Schools, but Williams says starting that project is on hold right now until issues with the supply chain ease.

Williams says that the new police station is coming – but it could be some time before the project starts, and even longer before its completion.
