The Summerville Recreation Department is looking for entries for the annual Summerville Christmas Parade that is scheduled for Friday, December 3rd.

The parade is being held on a Friday this year, which is a break in the tradition of Monday night parades that most people are accustomed to.  Summerville Main Street Director Susan Locklear said that the parade is being held on a Friday this year due to scheduling issues with both local high schools, who will have bands performing during the parade.

This year’s theme is “An Old Fashioned Christmas”.  Locklear says that entries are needed, and the deadline for entering the parade is Thursday, December 2nd.  Cash awards will be provided for the best three entries into this year’s parade.

Registration for participants is $25.
