
Over 300 families in Chattooga County were able to have a better Thanksgiving Holiday after Chattooga Family Connection and their partners held a food distribution event earlier this month.
Chattooga Family Connection is part of the Georgia Family Connection. The organization is the only statewide network in the country dedicated to the health and well-being of families and communities. According to the group’s mission statement, the organization operates in communities in all 159 Georgia counties to craft local solutions based on local decisions.
The fifth annual Home for the Holiday’s food distribution was held at Connect City Church in Summerville and included partners and volunteers with the Summerville Police Department, Community Resource Center, DFCS, Chattooga and Trion Early/Headstart, Caresource, United Grocery Outlet, Amerigroup, Connect City Church, Live Healthy Chattooga, Summerville Library, Chattooga High School’s FFA students and Chattooga High School HOSA students.
