Earlier this year, the Georgia Department of Corrections investigators charged a Hays State Prison inmate in the murder of a fellow inmate in 2020.

Timothy “Green Light” Teasley, age twenty-seven, was charged with aggravated assault and felony murder earlier this year.

Teasley has been incarcerated since his conviction for aggravated assault and robbery charges in September of 2012.

Teasley was brought to Hays from Jackson State Prison in Butts County.  Sheriff Schrader said that the Department of Corrections has been investigating the murder that happened on March 19, 2020 while Teasley was incarcerated. Department of Corrections investigators say that Teasley was involved in a fight with Anthony Lamar McGhee in March of 2020 and that he used a “sharp metal” object to stab McGhee in the face and body, causing McGhee’s death.

Teasley would have been up for possible parole in 2022 on the earlier charges, according to information from the Georgia Department of Corrections.
