Heavy rain and the possibility of storms made City of Summerville officials change their minds about planned Christmas activities for this weekend.

The forecast rain for Northwest Georgia prompted the city to postpone Christmas in the Park that was to have been held last night.  The annual Mistletoe Market that was to be held at Dowdy Park today was also postponed.  The city has moved both activities to next Friday and Saturday, December 17th and 18th.

A cold front is bringing a line of heavy rain and strong storms through the area today.  Forecasters say that we can expect some storms with strong winds.

The good news is, the long-range forecast for next week shows milder temperatures and sunny days all the way through next Friday.
