Summerville Police responded to a call about a dog attack on James Street late last week.

According to a report from the police department, two pit bulls went into the yard of a neighboring residence and attacked another pit bull that was contained in the yard.

Police say that the dog that was attacked was fitted with a shock collar and was kept contained by an electronic fence.

The two dogs that attacked the other dog were not up-to-date on their immunizations, according to the owner.

Police issued a citation to Kristin Hyatt for violation of the leash law.  Chattooga County Animal Control was called to pick up the animals and place them in quarantine.
