
The Chattooga County Board of Education met on Monday for a very brief meeting. In fact, there was only one item on the agenda and that was to accept the resignation of a Summerville man who taught second grade at Lyerly Elementary School.
Forty-four-year-old Jeremy Alan Bowman was arrested last Friday after Floyd County authorities say that he agreed to travel to Floyd County to commit sodomy with someone Bowman believed to be an underage boy.
WZQZ News has learned that Bowman tendered his resignation on Sunday.
The board voted unanimously to accept Bowman’s resignation.
