Most of Chattooga County woke up to no snow on Monday morning, but that wasn’t the case for residents of Cloudland who had anywhere from 2-5 inches of snow that fell between 2 AM and daybreak.

There were also a few areas in Menlo and Teloga and Jamestown, Alabama that has traces of snow, but for the most part, most people in Chattooga County didn’t get to see any snow on Monday morning.

In the overnight hours, Chattooga County Sheriff Mark Schrader put out the word that roads on the mountain were getting slippery.  Georgia D.O.T. had salted the bridge on Highway 48 by the early morning hours.  A tree was reported across the road on Stateline Road and one on Highway 157.  Also there were two trees down on Riverhaven Lane, according to Chattooga 911, but there were no power outages due to the snow.

There were a couple of power outages in the valley due to the wind.  Georgia Power reported a small outage affecting less than five houses on Oak Hill Road between Lyerly and Alpine and another outage was reported near Teloga Baptist Church that affected less than five houses.
