Dade County, Georgia Sheriff Ray Cross says that the GBI is investigating an officer involved shooting that happened on Monday night.

Dade County deputies, along with DeKalb County, Alabama deputies located a stolen vehicle at a gas station.  According to Dade County Sheriff Ray Cross, the driver of the vehicle attempted to run over a DeKalb County Deputy.  At that point, the Alabama lawman reportedly shot the driver.

The male suspect was transported by CHI EMS to Erlanger in Chattanooga with unknown injuries. The GBI is investigating the shooting.

Sheriff Cross said two other occupants were inside the vehicle and were discovered to have warrants. They were both transported to the Dade County Jail.

The sheriff said the suspect who was shot was also said to have felony warrants as well.
