Many people put more thought into planning their annual vacation than they do into planning for what will happen to their estate.  The Chattooga County Chamber is presenting a program on the importance of estate planning at their monthly meeting.
There are many good reasons to consider estate planning as we kick off the new year:

• If you want to choose who will inherit what among your possessions and valuables, you need do some estate planning.
• Estate planning allows you the ability to name your children’s guardian in the event of your premature death.
• Reducing taxes on what you leave behind is a common estate-planning goal.
• Estate planning minimizes the chances of family strife and ugly legal battles.

The Chamber’s featured speakers for the event will be Chattooga County Probate Judge Gary Woods and Chattooga County Extension Agent Rebecca Thomas.

The meeting will be held at the Chattooga County Civic Center at noon on January 18th.
