Governor Brian Kemp visited Walker County Friday to celebrate the $118 million investment being made by GE Appliances at Roper Corporation in LaFayette.

Governor Kemp spoke about the importance of being part of the supply chain solution by manufacturing more products in the United States, state of Georgia and Walker County.

Scheduled for completion in 2024, the expansion will increase Roper’s production capacity, provide for the addition of advanced manufacturing technology, and boost employment to 2,600 in Walker County. The LaFayette plant produces cooktops, free-standing ranges and wall ovens under the Monogram®, Café™, GE Profile™, GE®, Haier and Hotpoint brands.
