Will Northwest Georgia see snow this weekend? The best answer is – it is too early to tell. Several weather models (as illustrated above), are showing measurable snowfall as far south as Atlanta, but the timing of the precipitation and the colder air behind the approaching front will be the determining factor.
For now, the forecast is calling for rain on Saturday night with temperatures falling throughout the night and into Sunday morning. The National Weather Service in Peachtree City, Georgia is leaving the window open for that rain to transition into snow by early Sunday morning, but this far out, they are saying little else.
On Tuesday afternoon, some Atlanta media outlets began reporting the possibility of snow in the metro area for the weekend, but admitted that it is too early to tell if winter precipitation will develop.
WZQZ will keep an eye on the latest weather from Channel 12 Meteorologist Patrick Core and the latest from the National Weather Service and keep you updated on any chances for snow this weekend.
