An SUV was found set ablaze in Chattooga County during the early hours of Tuesday morning, according to Trion Fire Chief Justin Lowe.
The Chattanooga Times-Free Press reported on Wednesday that the SUV was found on Rosser Road, just off of Cooper Pit Road, in Trion, Georgia, after a neighborhood resident leaving to go to work called in to report a fire, authorities said.
The vehicle was located around 5 AM. When firefighters arrived on the scene, the fire, heat and smoke inside of the vehicle were so widespread the fire had to be extinguished before firefighters or investigators could access the inside of it.
Lowe said there were no people inside the vehicle at the time of the fire and its owner has not yet been found. Firefighters and law enforcement are searching for any clues about who may have been driving.
