Forecast model showing winter precipitation for Northwest Georgia

The weather this weekend could get interesting, and the closer we get to Saturday evening, the more certainty we will have about snow – or possibly freezing rain.

There are two different weather models used by meteorologist that are showing two different possibilities for the weekend.  As we get closer to the weather event, those models will begin to come in line with each other.

Temperatures on Saturday are expected to be in the low-50’s as the rain makes it’s way into our part of the state, but temperatures are expected to fall to around freezing overnight on Saturday and into Sunday morning.

Meteorologist will be tracking the low pressure system that could bring a wintry mix to our area over the next two days.  WZQZ will bring you the latest from Channel 12 Meteorologist Patrick Core and the National Weather Service.
