The No Child Left Behind Act of 2001, which reauthorized the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965, places a major emphasis upon teacher quality as a factor in improving student achievement.  The new Title II programs focus on preparation, training and recruiting high-quality teachers and principals. 

The Georgia Department of Education and the Professional Standards Commission recently recognized the Chattooga County School System at the Fall Title II A Conference held in Dublin, Georgia for achieving the status of 100% Highly Qualified Teachers and 100% para-professionals Highly Qualified for the 2010 school year.  A certificate was presented to the Chattooga County Board of Education by Curriculum Director Mrs. Emily Bolten at the November Board of Education meeting held recently.
