According to a report released by the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office, a vehicle that was found burned on Cooper Pit Road was set on fire intentionally.

The reports says that a deputy responded to the scene and found a 1990’s model white, Jeep Cherokee fully engulfed in flames.  Local firefighters extinguished the fire, allowing a closer look at the vehicle by law enforcement.

According to the deputy, “After extinguishing the fire several tool boxes of burnt tools were observed and a front push bumper that were located in the rear seat. Clothes were observed in the front engine bay sitting on top of butane container that would be consisted with some type of accelerate used to start the vehicle fire intentionally.”

A Tennessee veteran’s tag was found under the vehicle reading DV-7417 that came back to a Dodge 1500 out of Murfreesboro, TN.

There was no driver or owner on scene.

The incident was turned over to an investigator.
