Students in the Chattooga County School System will be moving to a hybrid schedule with two virtual learning days each week, staring next Monday, January 24, 2022.

Chattooga BOE Chairman Eddie Eslberry told WZQZ News, “After a lengthy discussion on the latest Covid surge we are seeing, the board voted unanimously to move to a virtual Monday in the building Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, and then virtual again for Friday until February 22. Teachers and Staff will report to there schools on Monday and Friday to give virtual instruction and tutoring. Chattooga County schools have 95 cases thus far this week with only two days face to face instruction.”

Eslberry added, “This hybrid schedule is an effort to keep our students well and to allow our faculty and staff time to regroup from having to double fill classes and cover other essential roles due to positive Covid cases.”

The school system is still on a five-day-a-week schedule.  Two days will be virtual and three days will be normal, face-to-face instruction.

The new schedule goes into place this coming Monday.
