Last week a website went live that is offering Americans free COVID-19 rapid tests by ordering online. Also, the government is planning on making free N-95 masks available to the public, but neither the rapid tests nor the masks will be available at the Chattooga County Health Department.
The Georgia Department of Public Health Northwest Health District released a statement late last week saying, “Northwest Georgia county health departments are NOT offering free COVID rapid tests or N95 respirators. Please visit covidtests.gov for information about free rapid tests. Retail pharmacies and community health centers will be offering the free N95s. We do not know specifically which ones yet but will make that information available when we do.”
The Northwest Health District continues to operate drive-up testing with the closest locations for Chattooga County residents being Catoosa or Floyd Counties.
