Floyd County Police say that a Cherokee County, Alabama purchased a Harley Davidson motorcycle in May of last year with a forged check.  Leesburg, Alabama resident, forty-six-year-old Adam Lee Maroney is accused of purchasing the used motorcycle at Complete Cycles in Floyd County on May 22, 2021.  Police say that he used someone else’s check to make the purchases.  He then returned to the business and said that the funds were not in the account to cover the purchase and promised to return with cash.  Floyd County Police say that Maroney never returned with cash and never returned the motorcycle.  Maroney was charged with theft and forgery last week and was being held in the Floyd County Jail on a $10,001 bond.
