The Town of Trion Council will be meeting on Thursday evening at the Trion Town Hall.  You can see the complete agenda below:

The council meeting will be the first for Mayor Lanny Thomas since being elected in November of last year.  The council will be selecting one of their own to serve as mayor pro-tem at tonight’s meeting.

Also, the council will be hearing from local Real Estate Agent Steve Baker, who is representing businessman Tim Perry concerning possible annexation into the Trion Town limits.

Also, the council will hear about a proposal to swap land for water customers.  Mayor Lanny Thomas has discussed the proposed swap with Chattooga County Commissioner Blake Elsberry and wants to let the county have the land near the Trion Industrial Park where the county has a dumpster site in exchange for the county’s water customers at Riegel Crossing.

Also, the council is expected to approve a contract with local Attorney Chris Corbin to serve as the town’s attorney.

The meeting gets underway at 6 PM and the public is invited to attend.
