Chattooga County Tax Commissioner Joy Hampton is wanting to expand the options for people to pay their taxes and tag fees at the Chattooga County Tax Office.

Hampton said, “Hopefully coming soon: Apple Pay! For legal/liability reasons and to remove room for errors, we cannot accept credit card payments over the phone. We have new ways to pay online and in person, and you can even set up a “watch list” to send automated payments at the intervals you choose for property tax. You can also search for your bill on our website, click on the parcel ID and go directly to the Assessors’ website to see your property information. To set up a recurring payments on a watch list with your “wallet”, visit our website, click on Taxpayer Search, and set up an account with the login link on the right side of the screen (from a desktop PC).”

Hampton added, “I’m very excited to offer the newest technology as soon as it rolls out to Chattooga County citizens! Bitcoin is still in the works, but is delayed for now.”
