News came last week that the State of Georgia would be giving a $3 million grant to Chattooga County to improve internet service for the county.

Chattooga County Commissioner Blake Elsberry welcomed the news and said that the money will be spent in a joint-partnership between the county and Windstream.

Windstream has pledged to kick in $7 million dollars to improve their services in Chattooga County.  The $10 million upgrade will see expansion of internet to areas of the county that are un-served, or under-served currently.

Commissioner Elsberry said that he appreciated Governor Kemp’s role in making sure that internet is improved for Chattooga County residents.
