State Senator Jeff Mullis (R-Chickamauga) says that he doesn’t want the Chinese bidding on state contracts in Georgia.
Mullis said, “China is known for its civil rights violations,” state Sen. Jeff Mullis, R-Chickamauga, the bill’s chief sponsor, said on the Senate floor Thursday (Feb. 17). “Technology theft by the Chinese … is a threat.”
Legislation to prevent the Chinese from bidding on state contracts cleared the Georgia Senate this week.
Senator Mullis’ bill would require companies to certify that they are not owned or operated by the Chinese government and would fine up to $250,000 to any companies that submit false claims.
