A Summerville man believes that his ex-wife used his identity to collect unemployment benefits in his name.

Randall Griffith told a police officer that when he went to update his information for Summerville Gardens Apartments, he discovered that records indicated that he had collected $5,000 in unemployment benefits from the State of Georgia – money Griffith says he never applied for or received.

Griffith told police that the only person who would have had access to his personal information would have been his ex-wife.

Griffith told police he would gather more information about the incident and turn that information over to an investigator with the Summerville Police Department.
