A Mahan Road, Summerville woman says that she was the victim of fraud after letting her neighbor borrow her cell phone.

Last Saturday, the complainant called the sheriff’s office after she said her cell-phone was “rooted” and “hacked”.  The woman said that she had loaned her phone to a neighbor, who she didn’t know very well, and when she got the phone back, she noticed she had been the victim of fraud.

The deputy asked the complainant why her neighbor would do that, and the complainant said she had no idea.

The deputy advised the woman that a report would be filed and cautioned the woman about loaning her cellphone to anyone.
