Former State Representative Colton Moore has qualified to run for the Georgia State Senate to represent the 53rd District which covers Dade, Walker, Catoosa and Chattooga Counties.

Moore represented House District 1 – Dade County in the Georgia General Assembly from 2019-2021.  He was twenty-one-years-old at the time, making him the youngest state representative in Georgia history.

Moore, who still lives on his family’s farm in Dade County, is an auctioneer and runs his family’s bulldozing and trucking business.  He is a graduate of the University of Georgia.

Moore ran against State Senator Jeff Mullis in 2020 in a three-way Republican Primary between himself, Mullis and Chickamauga insurance agent Todd Nobilitt.  Mullis received 54% of the vote in that primary, but faced the toughest challenge of his political career since being defeated by Democrat Sonny Hudgins over two decades ago.  Moore was able to garner about 34% of the vote in that race.

Moore told WZQZ News on Tuesday, “It’s a new era in North Georgia politics. Everyone is shuffling to fill the power void.  This election is extremely critical! I sure hope to earn the trust and support from all those eager to bring a voice for liberty and freedom to Atlanta.”

Moore qualified to run for the senate in Atlanta on Monday night.
