Voters will have some choices in the local school board race in May and in November.  At the end of qualifying at noon on Friday, two more candidates qualified for office.

In Chattooga County Board of Education race for Seat 3 – the Menlo District – three Republicans have qualified: Mark Pickle, Steve Groves and Lori Brady.  Those three will face off in the May Primary and the winner will be running against incumbent Democrat Lynn Hall who qualified earlier in the week.

For Seat 4 – the Lyerly District – two Republican candidates will face off in the May Primary: Norval Terry Henderson and Bonnie Fletcher.  That seat is currently held by Spencer Hogg, who announced that he would not seek the seat again.

Tiffany Lawrence will be the next BOE member representing the Pennville District, Seat 2, as she was the only one to qualify.  That seat is currently held by Brad Hayes who chose not to run for reelection.
