The Tillotson Menlo Charitable Foundation met on Friday, March 11th for the purpose of electing new officers.  Gary Woods, Chattooga County Probate Judge was elected to serve as the foundation’s president. Eddie Robertson was elected to serve as vice president, Arch Farrar was elected to continue to serve as secretary and Jeffrey Richardson was elected to continue as the foundation’s treasurer.   The foundation consists of four statuary positions that include the Menlo City Mayor (currently Allen Keen of Menlo, Georgia), Menlo School Principal (currently Paula Buice of Summerville, Georgia), Menlo City Attorney (currently Arch Farrar of Summerville, Georgia), Chattooga County Probate Judge (currently Gary Woods of Summerville, Georgia). The board of directors also filled an open director position. Heather Stokes of Greensboro, Georgia was elected to fill the position. Heather is the daughter of board member Janet Tillotson Munchak and the granddaughter of the founder of Tillotson Corporation, Mr. Neil Tillotson.

Other board members approved for another 2 year term include Bill Alico, Orchard Park, NY; Eddie Robertson, Centre, AL; Jeffrey Richardson, Cedar Bluff, AL; Robert McWhorter, Summerville, GA and Janet Tillotson Munchak, Roswell, GA.  Carol Mitchell, Menlo GA continues to serve as the foundation’s administrative coordinator.  The foundation began in 2005. Over the past sixteen years approximately $6.4 million has been awarded to provide funds for 735 worthwhile projects.

The foundation will begin the process for another round of awards in October of this year. Applicants are encouraged to watch for articles in the local news later this year for exact dates for application submissions.
