Next week is National Agriculture Week and the Georgia Department of Agriculture has declared it Georgia Agricultural Week as well.  Tuesday in National Ag Day and hundreds of elementary students in Chattooga County will have the opportunity to find out more about Georgia’s number one industry – agriculture.

Lauren Jarrett, Chattooga County Young Farmer teacher says, “Ag Day is Tuesday! We are expecting more than 300 5th graders for the event. I am excited that we are having the event after a two-year absence due to COVID. We have a fantastic group of ag students signed up to serve as group leaders and as helpers at some of the exhibits.”

Fifth-grade students from both the Trion City Schools and the Chattooga County School systems will be brought to the Chattooga County Agricultural Building to learn more about how agriculture works and what it means to the United States, Georgia, Chattooga County and the world.
