Chattooga County Commissioner Blake Elsberry is seeking people willing to serve on a soon to be formed planning commission.

According to an advertisement in last week’s local paper, the commissioner is looking for five citizens who would be willing to serve on the Chattooga County Planning Commission.  The commission would work under the authority of the commissioner’s office and the Chattooga County Land Development Ordinance.

The notice says that the members would review, approve, conditionally approve and disapprove applications for the subdivision of land in the county.

Commissioner Elsberry has put a moratorium on large land developments for subdivisions in the county until the new commission can be formed.

The commissioner says that the commission will be made up of five different members representing their communities on the commission.
