This is National Agriculture Awareness Week and the Georgia Department of Agriculture has named it Georgia Agricultural Awareness week.  Chattooga County will be observing National Ag Day – which is tomorrow – at the Chattooga County Agricultural Building.

Georgia’s farmers and ranchers produced more than $12.2 billion worth of agricultural commodities in 2020, according to the University of Georgia Center for Agribusiness & Economic Development. Agriculture had an economic impact of $69.4 billion on the state’s economy while providing 352,430 jobs.

Tomorrow, fifth graders from Trion City Schools and Chattooga County Schools will be coming to the Ag Building to learn more about farming and ag production.

This week, during National Ag Week, WZQZ Radio wants to say thank you to all the farmers and ag producers in our area who help to keep us fed and clothed and who contribute so much to our community.
