A fire at a home on Norton Road over the weekend appears to have been caused by an electrical issue.  Summerville Fire Chief Robbie Lathem told WZQZ News on Monday that the call about the fire came in at 8:30 PM last Saturday.

Lathem said that the fire burned a bedroom and their was damage to the ceiling in other parts of the house.  There was a large amount of smoke damage throughout the house.

The Summerville and Lyerly Fire Departments responded to the scene.

A Go Fund Me account has been set up to aid the fire victim, Kayla Hines, and her children.  She is a single mother with three children.
