Multiple fire departments responded to a fire at Valley View Ranch at Cloudland on Wednesday. Fire officials say that nearby houses were in danger of the fire. No structures were lost in the fire. Fire departments responding included Cloudland, Hayes Correctional, Teloga, Menlo and Walker County.

Also, Trion Fire Department battled a forest fire on Tate Road on Wednesday. Walker County Fire Department and the Forestry Service continued to battle a large forest fire on Lookout Mountain that has been burning since earlier this week.

Fire officials say that overnight rain should help with the dangerous fire conditions that have prevailed for the past several days.
