Chattooga County’s State Representative and State Senator both voted for a bill that they are now requesting the governor to veto.
Last week, State Senator Jeff Mullis told WZQZ News that he had introduced legislation to raise the pay of the state court solicitor in Chattooga County, but said that he did not consult with Chattooga County Commissioner Blake Elsberry about the bill.
Mullis said that he was attempting to make the state court solicitor’s pay across the four-county region he represents more uniform.
Commissioner Elsberry is asking the Governor to veto the bill. Senator Mullis and State Representative Eddie Lumsden, who also supported the bill in the House, say that they have also requested that Governor Kemp veto the bill.
