Chattooga County Sheriff’s Deputies along with the Gore Fire Department responded to an accident on Silver Hill Road on Sunday morning involving a vehicle that collided with a downed power pole and became entangled in the electric lines.

According to a report released on Monday, the deputy said that when he arrived on the scene he observed a power pole broken in two and powerlines in the roadway.  The Gore Fire Department and North Georgia Electric had gotten a vehicle freed from the power lines in the roadway.

The driver of the vehicle told the deputy that he and his co-workers had been to an event in Haywood Valley and were returning home after midnight when they topped a rise and hit the downed power pole.  The downed powerline wrapped around the wheel and axle of the car, making it immobile.

No one was injured in the accident.
