According to a report released this week, sheriff’s deputies were dispatched on March 28th to the Sequoya Motel in Summerville concerning a fight.

When deputies arrived on the scene, a subject by the name of Phillip Miller was standing in the parking lot and had obviously been in a fight.  Miller had abrasions to his face, arms and legs and told a deputy that Caleb Willingham had punched him and thrown him in the gravel.

Douglas Payne had been outside painting when the incident occurred. Payne advised deputies that the Miller and Willingham had been yelling at each other all day and he had separated them previously. He also said that  Willingham had left the property earlier and Miller had chased Willingham’s car, yelling at him.

The witness said that the fight began when Miller began “yelling in his mother’s face and was saying vulgar things.”

Miller was placed under arrest for disorderly conduct and was booked into the Chattooga County Jail.
