Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger is referring over 1,600 cases of non-citizens registering to vote to local district attorneys, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, and the State Election Board.

Lookout Mountain District Attorney Chris Arnt said “Attempting to register to vote by an individual who knows he or she is ineligible, is a violation of Georgia law. I will work together with Secretary Raffensperger to investigate further and prosecute if appropriate.”

The citizenship check of the voter rolls found attempted registrations by non-citizens in 88 counties around the state. The largest number of attempted non-citizen registrants were in metro Atlanta.

None of the non-citizens were allowed to register to vote.
