Motorists were asked to avoid Highway 53 and South Wall Street in Calhoun Tuesday afternoon after a helicopter crashed near El Nopal Restaurant.
The aircraft is a privately owned helicopter, and four people were on board, including the pilot. Everyone on board survived the crash with only minor injuries reported.
Calhoun Police responded to the scene, and the FAA is investigating the cause.
Police have said that they believe high winds caused the helicopter to hit a powerline and then crash into a building.
