The Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office responded to an emergency call about a domestic altercation on Maplewood Drive that ended with a man being taken to jail on an outstanding warrant.

According to a report released yesterday by the sheriff’s office, when deputies arrived on the scene and spoke with the complainant, she told them that Kori Hurt had struck her in the mouth during a physical altercation.  When the deputies spoke with Hurt, he said that the complainant had stepped on his laptop and broke it and he got angry and threw a lamp.  In the ensuing struggle, Hurt said he “may have” hit the complainant accidently.

In the end, the complainant didn’t press charges, but Hurt still went to jail.  Deputies found that he had an outstanding warrant.  Hurt was arrested and jailed on the outstanding warrant which was from Chattooga County.
