A road on Lookout Mountain that has been closed for several months is scheduled for repair.

Dougherty Gap Road is located about two and one-half miles from the Chattooga County line in Walker County at Cloudland.  The road is used by residents on the mountain to travel to LaFayette and Chickamauga and runs through Mountain Cove Farms at the foot of the mountain.

The road washed out several months ago causing portions of the road to collapse, forcing its closure.

The Walker County Road Department says that repairs on the road will take six to ten weeks to complete.  Work will begin on April 25th.
