Chattooga County 4-H Shotgun team held a district qualifiers with four Northwest Georgia counties participating.  Chattooga, Dade, Spalding and Harralson Counties all had shooters in the qualifying competition.

Chattooga had ten senior shooters and five junior shooters. A senior shooter (9th – 12th grade) must shoot 20 out of 25 targets to qualify, while a junior shooter (7th-8th ) must shoot 16 out of 25 targets. Nine seniors and five juniors qualified to advance to the state competition held on May 7th at Rock Eagle.

Additionally, medals were given to the individual who had the highest score and the team that had the highest combined score in both the junior and senior divisions. Several shooters had the same score, so a doubles shoot-off decided the tie.

Junior Individual Awards 1st place Chattooga County – Braxson Cook-Bevels

Second-place Chattooga County – Ashlin Abee

Third-place Dade County -Kaden Ware

Junior Team Award First Place Chattooga County Gabe Smith, Nicholas Smith , Jonas Harde, Ashlin Abee, and Braxson Cook-Bevels

Senior Individual Award first and second place shot a perfect score and was decided in a shoot-off.  There was also a shoot-off for third place because of a four-way tie.
