The current owners of SKY21 Television in Summerville announced on Wednesday that the new owners of the station will be shutting down in Chattooga County and moving the TV station to Floyd County.

SKY 21 posted on their website on Wednesday:

The new owners will be moving WKSY to Floyd County, Ga in the near future.  When the FCC makes the changeover, our broadcast channels and Charter channels will go off the air.  This will occur most probably sometime in May.  Until then SKY 21 will keep broadcasting as usual.

The deal to sell the TV station was finalized on March 31st.  Gray Television, a company that has been aggressively acquiring low-power television stations, signed off on an asset purchase agreement. Narrow Path Productions is selling the station for $325,000.

Current owner Scott Hickens was quoted as saying, “It will be nice to move on and try something else”.
