The Town of Trion will hold the regular monthly work session and council meeting coming up this evening at 6 PM at the Trion Town Council Conference Room.   The works session will be held first with the regular meeting to follow.

At the last council meeting there was a heated exchange between Trion City Councilman Johnny Simmons and the mayor and other council members – prompting Simmons to leave the meeting.  Simmons objected to a couple of issues being discussed and left the meeting.

One issue was the City of Ethics program – Simmons doesn’t think Trion should join.  The other issue was a letter request from a business for a tax exemption for donated items.
